Biography
The band SSS, which stands for Short Sharp Shock, hails from Liverpool, UK and plays hardcore influenced thrash metal (also called crossover thrash). The band is currently signed to Earache. They were founded in 2005 and are still active today.
The band released a six track demo in May 2005, a four track EP the next year and their debut album Short Sharp Shock soon thereafter. Their label at the time was Thrashgig / Dead & Gone Records. Their switch to Earache Records meant the album was re-issued in early 2007 with bonus tracks.
“THE DIVIDING LINE” which was released on 20th Oct again is on Earache records
This is the 2nd full length lp from the band. A staggering 20 tracks are included on both cd and lp.
Each format contains a track the other dosnt have and if bought from an independent record shop you got a FREE “SK8 and DESTORY” 7” record , featuring odd ball UK comedian Frank Sidebottom.
June 6th 2011 see’s the release of album #3 for SSS, the sound pushed even further, bringing elements of death metal, prog rock, classic rock and grindcore into thier punk/metal mix. It is thier most abrasive record to date musically, with the tracklist now pushed up to 25. PLUS guest vocals from Mark “Barney” Greenway of Napalm Death.
