    In Martin Scorsese's film "Piano Blues" of the series with different directors he talked about how he learned to play the piano on damaged instruments where not all the keys of the keyboard where in function - so he developed his own original and great style ( 2 )

    Fortunate to see Fess many times and none better than at Tipitinas - corner of Napoleon & Magazine. Most of his recordings don't do him justice and nothing compared to live. Crawfish Fiesta was his best recording with great musicians backing. Red beans and rice, a cold Dixie beer and Fess! It don't get no better.
