Biography

Based out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Zeb, Hassan, and Shoaib Malik; the band of brothers has evolved.

PO PO echos resonating rock. Their songs spawn a thought of deja vu. Raw, and quirky, PO PO tosses a wall of re-verb, dry chords, and garage punk drumming into a soup that taunts lobes and taste buds. The 12 songs on URDUDES were recorded in Athens, Gerorgia with the help of their friends in Dark Meat. PO PO’s music haunts the listener with grunge grooves and reemerges here, psychedelia scented by the middle east, heritage, and lessons learned from god fathers of rock and roll.

Popo are an indie rock quartet that come rocking from Bydgoszcz to place near you.

Mikolaj Czajkowski, on vocals and bass guitar; Sebastian Loskot, on vocals and keyboards; Tomasz Wojtaniec, on vocals and guitar; and Kuba “Qba” Janicki, on percussion and programming are the masterminds behind the textures and flowing emotions, the catchy melodies and aesthetic sounds they came up with.

Post rock driven, electronic music flavoured, blessed with the magic powders of pop music and haunted by the spectrum of the 80’s new wave, Popo are here to conquer a place on the sunny side of Poland’s new music scene. Their music is all about freshness and rhythm, sounding new and attractive to those who love indie, electronic or pop music.

Going back to the year 2005, with a pause in between, it was only by mid 2006 that this quartet has had the line-up settled up.

    Płyta Go Upstream bardzo fajna, ale mam wrażenie jakbym w jednym tracku słuchała zespołu rodzaju Daft Punk, w innym The White Stripes, a czasami jeszcze innego rodzaju muzyki ;) Najlepszy jest moim zdaniem kawałek Take the Train.

    Zacząłem od Popo - Go Upstream wydania pudełkowego. Płytka nagrana bardzo porządnie. Przyjemnie słucha się na kompie na głośnikach komputerowych, na sprzęcie przenośnym na KPP oraz na porządniejszym sprzęcie stereo. Płytka ciekawa muzycznie, nie męczy uszu (jak np. wiele nowych zespołów) oraz co miłe dla oka, wydania bardzo profesjonalnie. W mojej subiektywnej skali: 8/10 - godne polecenia, zakupienia i słuchania (nie tylko od-słuchania) pozdrawiam i życzę powodzenia!

    Wytwórnia FDM postanowiła oddać za darmo nakłady płyt młodych zespołów, które wyprodukowała w roku 2009. "Może chociaż w ten sposób pomożemy tym kilku formacjom - Popo, Zerova, New Century Classics. Równocześnie zawieszamy działalność wydawniczą". Premiera została zaplanowana na 23 listopada. Płyty będzie można za darmo zamówić na stronie www.fdm.net.pl oraz będą one rozdawane na koncertach zespołów.
