Idiots that don't think he was good - listen to 1962 BBC radio show "Teenager's Turn" where The Beatles perform "Ask Me Why" amongst other tracks...Pete was every bit Ringo's equal in 1962 and they turfed him over personal, not performance reasons. Guess Starkey just jived with them more as people. Fair enough, but what the way they sacked him and how they have treated him (Pete) since is deplorable.

the number of anti-Pete posts on this page is totally crazy--yeh, he was a shite drummer in the early 60s, just listen to the decca tapes, but that's why they sacked him, no? plus he did look a bit the arrogant sumbitch. but isn't having been sacked from the bloody beatles months before they blew up enough punishment for a lifetime? plus I've heard his current band, he seems to have taken a lesson (in drums and humility) in the interim, so just let him be.
