Fun fact: Mike Scheidt of Yob got into doom and formed the band in large part due to attending a Napalm Death gig, that also had Cathedral on the bill. Bands SHOULD perform with artists from other genres/scenes, it`s good for both the bands and the people going to these shows. Your purist views are archaic and obsolete, Tuberkulloosi,

"Probably because they're not elitist assholes and just want to get out there and play some shows" ...And bullshit walks into a Deafheaven show and masturbates into a cup, then blogs about it.

Also i've recently come across a band called Wheel who sound very similar to Pallbearer (especially the vocals). It's good stuff.

Easily one of the best doom bands out there today. Proud to that they're from my state- they, as well as Deadbird, reinforce my faith in metal from the South.

Why to tour with Crapheaven and some silly tryhard-"noise" project? Outrageous. I would have refused as a magnificent Doom band these guys are.

Nothing sounds quite like them (which usually the case with any doom band worth their salt) but you'd probably like: Monolith Cult, Samothrace, Bell Witch and some of the more melancholic tracks from the legendary Ramesses.

Yeah, I absolutely agree - just listened to it once more after a while of letting it rest, and it's still as great as ever. Fantastic record and I'm more than stoked for a follow-up.

Easily one of the best albums of the last five years. 'Devoid Of Redemption' gives me chills.

Well can't say they don't deserve their hype. Their LP is truly special. Something about it that just pulls you in. Looking forward to new music from this lot.
