About a Girl (3:37)
From Nirvana and 455 other releases
Written by Kurt Cobain after he spent an entire day listening to “Meet the Beatles”, the title of this song came after Bleach producer Jack Endino asked what it was about and Cobain replied “It’s about a girl”.
This track is often said to be the first hint of the more pop-oriented songwriting that would become prominent on Nevermind, and stood in stark contrast to the more hardcore punk influenced sound of the rest of the Bleach album.
