Muhmood (pronounced Makhm’ud) is a Russian experimental sound project from Barnaul, Western Siberia.
Muhmood music is inspired by the foggy mornings in the forests and swamps, by the blasts of the wind blowing heated sand in the deserts, by the sound of cranky engines in the factories and roaring electricity in the huge power lines.
Muhmood was founded by Alexei Biryukoff in 2003. Originally Alexei was making soundtracks for his conceptual shows that include large scale paintngs and photographs, installatons, performances and of course sound. As more and more material was piling up it started to screams for extra releases that would hardly fit in his future art projects and from now on will be coming out under the name Muhmood.

I have the feeling I listened to a type of 'dark ambient' different from what I'm used to. Overall I like the experimental music from those two albums I've checked out so far ('Tamara and Demon' and 'Prescence.[exe]'). I feel more attracted to the music on the last mentioned, mainly because of the sound, but also because of the average track length. The songs on the first mentioned album were in my honest opinion too short to stay in my mind. As a conclusion I can say I like your music, so I'll return to this page.
