MIKE’s 2022 album ‘Beware of the Monkey’, his second full length album to not release during the annual summer solstice (June 21st-June 22nd), instead sharing its release date with War in my Pen which both released during the winter solstice (December 21st).
The title came from a Chinese horoscope that MIKE saw in a Chinese restaurant and interpreted as a warning about the future. In a livestream prior to the album’s release, he explained that he is a tiger in the Chinese horoscope, and that tigers are cautioned to Beware of the Monkey.
