Massada is a Dutch/Molukian live band with latin/funk/rock influences, founded in the Netherlands around 1973. They had various hits over the 70s and 80s in the Netherlands and Belgium and performed all over Europe.
The most solid factor over the years is founder Johnny Manuhutu.
Published albums are Astaganaga (1978), Pukul Tifa (1979), Pusaka (1980), Massada Live (1981), Baru (1981) and a DVD in 2005 called Massada 25 years live.
Most famous songs are Latin Dance, Dansa, Sajang é, Sageru and Arumbai/Air mata Tumpa.
Due to some problems the band stopped performing as a band late 1987 but after 10 years they started to do liveshows again, mostly at Indonesian Year Fairs (Pasar Malams) and even gave some live performances.
