Biography
Lizzy Lane (born June 19, 1991 in Kew, Melbourne) is an Australian musician, performer and songwriter. While known for her lively pop-friendly appeal, her music is largely influenced by 80s new romantic and post-punk movements, with significant theatrical rock and garage elements. She has said that many decades and genres of the 20th century played an important part in building her musical and creative influence.
Lane was brought up in the Dandenong Ranges district of Victoria, in theatre-involved household. She predominantly cites The Beatles, Kate Bush, Michael Jackson, Queen and Tears For Fears amongst her broad songwriting influences.
Having written her first songs at 11, as a teenager Lane collaborated with various small acts in Melbourne and Bath, England, all the while honing her songwriting and multi-instrumental skills.
