“Boyer” is the eleventh and final track off of Kevin Abstract’s third studio album ARIZONA BABY, released on April 25, 2019.
During Kevin’s #THE1999 live stream he was asked “What’s one person you haven’t forgotten from Corpus”. Kevin responded “Davieon Boyer,” who was his best friend while growing up in the city.
It refers back to the previous track “Crumble” which spoke about the pressures of life, saying that “we can not run forever” from our problems, we need to face them head-on with a little help from our friends, forming an inspiring end to the album. The collective ‘we’ working on our problems implies others helping with an individual’s issues, which could be a reference to The Beatles' “With a Little Help from My Friends”, which is from an album which featured Kevin said in a tweet was an important source of inspiration when recording the previous BROCKHAMPTON album iridescence.
