As you know by now, July AD operates in New York, this is our home, born and raised. Having said that, the attacks of 9/11 are still fresh wounds for people like us. These songs were not written quickly, the events of that day took years to sort out. Of course we felt strongly about writing something on how we felt and how we managed to deal with that day but nothing happened too quickly. After all, these were not easy things to talk about, much less write about. With the seven year mark upon us, with new children born into our lives, we managed to come to grips with two things:
1. We are staying here and will continue to be New Yorkers up for any challenge.
and
2. We are finally able to put into words and music how we feel about living through that horrible day.
If you were there, perhaps you will find some comfort in our music. If you watched from a distance on TV, this will place you in our shoes.
We humbly dedicate these songs to all the people who's only crime was showing up to work that day, and all the first responders who perished trying to save them. We will not, must not, ever forget.
