Triple Double is track 2 on Jean Dawson’s sophomore album Pixel Bath, and marks the first collaboration between Jean Dawson and A$AP Rocky.
In an interview with VICE, Jean explains how Rocky and he grew very close as friends over quarantine, and how Triple Double eventually came together.
“We got connected through somebody that worked on his team had known of my music since my first EP and eventually connected and introduced me to Rocky’s manager. We just got along like we’ve always known each other. It was really cool. I didn’t expect him to be exactly who he was, and we ended up working a lot through quarantine. Eventually, I was like, “I have a song.” And he was like, “I was waiting for you to ask me.” He came over to my best friend’s studio, and we worked on the song, and it was super organic—nothing forced. He was more than happy to be on the project, and that just made me happy.”
