James Taylor (born 12th March 1948) is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist, born in Boston, Massachusetts. He grew up in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where his father Isaac Taylor was the dean of the University of North Carolina Medical School. His family summered on Martha's Vineyard.     So the statement is dumb, but you completely agree with what I was getting at. No argument from me, take a lot at Pete Seeger or Woody Guthrie, Motown or the jazz musicians who helped push civil rights long before it was a national issue. The Beatles were outspoken their entire career. Music, Politics, culture, it all goes hand-in-hand, reflections, however you describe it there is a definite connection between them all.

    "Politics and music go hand-in-hand" that statement is dumb. Art definitely often reflects its context (including the political landscape), but one does not "go with" the other, they're just reflections of each other which makes sense because they exist in the same culture/world so really everything is just a reflection of everything else so what does anything matter
