Biography
Close the door, block out all outside noise. This will only take a minute. The band you are about to hear plays it short but definitely not sweet. From the suburbs of Canberra, Inflatable Ingrid formed when guitarist Reub7en met vocalist Paulie Thalidomide while the two were studying Year 12 at Narrabundah College in 2004. In the ensuing years, Inflatable Ingrid went through a revolving door line-up of rhythm players before Nickamc and Jülian permanently joined the band on bass and drums respectively. With their volatile mix of thrash metal riffs, hardcore punk disdain and a frontman described as "the love child of Jello Biafra and Nick Cave", Inflatable Ingrid's slogan could be "This Machine Kills Wankers".
Highlights of their career so far include competing in the 2006 Pot Belly Battle of the Bands, playing Indyfest '07, several Dionysian finales at the Phoenix Bootleg Sessions and self-releasing their debut EP, Urgent! Put This On Right Now!. Inflatable Ingrid supported The FolloW (Sydney) and Anal Discharge (Newcastle) in 2007 and has shared stages with such diverse local musicians as Australian Kingswood Factory, The Missing Lincolns, Konrad Lenz & the Spirits of the Dead, ManKilled, Cool Weapon and Super Best Friends. Have you ever seen or heard a band that wasn't quite right? It may have been Inflatable Ingrid!
