I still prefer their older stuff..New stuff sounds almost generic to me.To each their own.Guess I'm too old school.

THE FIRST RISE REVIEW IS IN! "Could this be the release that breaks this band? It definitely could. The songwriting is strong enough, and the musicianship is stronger than they've ever shown. Icarus Witch is definitely on the rise with this release." - 92/100 Pittriff Read the entire review at the following link: http://www.pitriff.com/cd-reviews/classic-metal/212-icarus-witch-rise

I agree with TrueBlood666. While I love the old tunes, the direction they are going in is a definite upgrade.

DISAGREE. Having followed this band since day 1, the songs I heard from the new album on iTunes sound WAY better, both in production value & songwriting. Considering I saw them on 2 tours as the backing band for the original Iron Maiden singer, questioning their "old school" metal cred is laughable & I still hear those influences on Rise. Bands change & evolve over time, imo the new music shows a progression away from sounding like their idols into forging an updated identity of their own. They've got my pre-order.
