Biography

Formed from broken bands on the West London borders in late 2007 Gravity Blue are Alex Toye (vocals/guitar); Andrew Kyle (lead guitar); Jeff Cooper (bass/keys/production) & Ben Crockford (drums).

Drawing comparisons with Manic Street Preachers, Joy Division and U2; Gravity Blue self released their debut album Breakthrough “a healthy slice of uplifting indie pop loveliness” in 2010.

Combining classic song constructions with widescreen ambition Breakthrough has been receiving great reviews.

“After my first listen of their music the first thing that came to my mind, was wonder that I had never heard of them before. As I listened more and more it became harder for me to believe that despite running for just over two years they were not known across the country and making millions alongside all bands as talented as they obviously are.”
“It is my belief that with time this band will be able to make it big and all it would take is for someone to recognise their talent and bring it forth for all to hear.”
“Don’t act too surprised if you start hearing them on the radio or seeing them on TV.” – Big In The Game 2010

“Breakthrough is full of clean, resonant, precisely picked guitars and great choruses. Always catchy and accessible but never descending into the banal.” – New Roxette 2010

“Gravity Blue have made a mark with this album, all i can do is urge you to have a listen” - Indie Rocks 2010

“There are fewer songs more beautiful then ‘Morning Light’”
” Like a best kept secret; not telling people about Gravity Blue will be the hardest thing you do this year. Some secrets are better shared, and this band is one secret the world should know.” – iTunes review from Chris Penn 2010

GB have also been making their mark on the live scene.

“if you love your commercial, tight, melodic male-lead pop, keep checking for their debut album” – UKEvents.net 2009

“These guys create a sound-space of lush textures and strong vocals that take you completely into their world! Greatly enjoyed their set - recommended.” – Club Smash 2009

Gravity Blue followed with their joyous ringing pop rock confections. The twin Telecaster attack combined with Alex’s clear, high vocals create something to cherish. A rare jewel indeed. – New Roxette, Aylesbury Festival Review 2010
