Grant Kirkhope is a composer of video game music for the company Big Huge Games. He was born in 1962 and has been composing video game music for 12 years in Rare. He has composed music for games such as Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, Donkey Kong 64, GoldenEye 007, Perfect Dark, Grabbed by the Ghoulies and Viva Piñata.

He has finished music for Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts (with Robin Beanland, David Clynick and Steve Burke) and Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise.

Kirkhope resigned from Rare 18th July 2008. He moved to United States and is currently composing music for Big Huge Games.

Grant Kirkhope's music was one of the best parts of the already enjoyable Viva Piñata, and I was very happy to hear his work return in Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. His work is truly some of the best orchestral music I've experienced in games. I was sad to see that he left Rare, but I hope that he continues producing great music for other studios.

Grant Kirkhope is such a rad dude. Meeting him totally made MAGfest for me back in January. Banjo Kazooie was my first N64 game and the first game I ever completed 100%. Snagged it for XBOX arcade recently. The game, and all of its wonderful elements, especially the soundtrack, is something I will never forget.
