Glen Hansard, the frontman of the Irish band The Frames, has released his first solo album called The Swell Season, in collaboration with a Czech singer and multiinstrumentalist Markéta Irglová.
Violinist Marja Tuhkanen and the cellist Bertrand Galen (both recently performing with the Irish band Interference) also collaborated on this record.
The album was released on April 21st, 2006 (on Glen Hansard’s 36th birthday).
Four of these tunes can be heard at the official myspace site, at http://www.myspace.com/theswellseason. You’ll find there also the cover art and the story of the album.
Hansard and Marketa starred together in the film ‘Once’ by writer/director John Carney (a former bass player of The Frames). so i dont see any buzz about this "band" (can you even call them a band?) but yeah anyway there was absolutely nothing going on about this band in the last week so how did it manage to generate more than 9000 points in fantasy festival in one week when the top scoring artist of all time hasnt even got that many points ? sorry but something seems very very wrong there. theres no buzz with this artist none !
