Real name Dan Jackson. Born in Denver, Colorado in 1974. Raised in Aurora, Colorado. A lower to middle-class suburb between two air force bases (both now closed.) Was inspired by his father, Tom Jackson, to play and make music. Had a lot of piano lessons, tried music school, but gravitated towards DIY electronics at the end. He is trying to get most of the stuff he did over the years up on the net for people to peruse. He has recently purchased a MacBook Pro and hopes to make music again.

Most of the work available online was done using Cakewalk, a Roland D-10, an E-mu Esi-32 sampler, a Yamaha CS-10 he swiped from a school he was working at in Ft. Lupton. On later stuff there is also an E-mu Proteus 2000. The newest stuff is almost entirely softsynth work.

The name “Flagron Meltmaster” comes from his father observing a game of Warhammer 40K that he and his friends were playing. There is a weapon called a multi-melta. Dan’s father, riffing on the name, called one of the characters in game “Flagron Meltmaster.” This emergence—this tenuous, strange formation of Tom’s mind—somehow embodied something within Dan, and the weird name stuck. “Flagron” is pronounced “Flay-gron.” Dan later used the name in some stories about super-heroes. Dan is still at work at a novel that floats on top of all of this.
