Biography
Fast Foolish Flies is a Norwegian band from the silver city of Kongsberg. Founded in -97 when three guys found each other musically after having played in numerous other outfits, they soon became five, and gathering quite a gathering in their home area and praise in the musical industry.
From the beginning they have always surprised audiences live as not being just another "garage" band. Inspired by heavy metal and grunge they have developed their own style, although not original by any means. Despite of similar interest the five and sometimes six members of the band have always had different influences which have made an interesting impact of the mixture of the songs. They vary quite a lot. They never tried to be like any other band, although it must be said that they usually sound like a post grunge band because of their common influences to those bands. They never hailed that calling.
They have released 5 EP's and one full record. The best record is the four track EP, Next Generation, from 2001 - which posed the question in Scream Magazine that this was possibly the best band in the genrè in Norway - well, as the band always laughed about - maybe not so hard with only maybe three acts at the time!
Their latest release, Break the Silence, shows a mature band and most be said to be as good as their best moments. Maybe not for everyone, but those who like melodies dancing on top of hard guitar riffs with a twist should find it entertaining enough.
