Biography
Eocean, Ewa Wikström, was born in the north of Sweden. From early age she incorporated music through her family. Singing in choirs and playing piano she reached the adolescence. Passing through a epoch with saxophone she finally met her love in the drums. From the age of thirteen she played the drums in the alternative rockband Kinema together with three friends. After highschool she studied music and got closer to jazz and other worldmusic. As a drummer she played with various bands, among others Johan Borgert and Holymadre. In 2005 she left Sweden for Spain, Barcelona. There she met Ivo Saint and Maria Di Pace with whom she formed the trio Dodó. With this trio Ewa started to explore the potential of the voice as an instrument. She also started to play some trumpet and acordeon, something that she uses in her own music quit a lot. Ewa always composed on the side of her other projects, but it was in the fall and winter of 2008 that she started to develop her own sound and became Eocean…
