Oakland, California, USA (1989 – present)

Assembled in Oakland, California, USA in July 1989, En Vogue launched with original members Cindy Herron, Maxine Jones, Dawn Robinson and Terry Ellis. En Vogue is a Grammy-nominated all-female R&B, club/dance, and soul vocal quartet assembled by the hit music producers Denzil Foster and Thomas McElroy, formerly of the disco group Club Nouveau.

En Vogue has sold over 28 million albums and singles worldwide. They have won more MTV Video Music Awards than any other female group in MTV history, a total of 7 VMAs. The group was named the second most successful girl group of the 1990s and the 18th most successful act overall of the 1990s according to Billboard magazine.

2005-2007: Impromptu Reunion

In 2005, after a eight year absence, Dawn Robinson rejoined En Vogue but left again the same year. The original four went on to sign with one of the industry’s largest management firms, The Firm Management Group. That September, they joined Salt-N-Pepa for the girl groups’ first ever joint public performance of their 1994 hit, “Whatta Man” at VH-1’s Hip Hop Honors, and briefly toured. They also earned another Grammy nomination for the single So What the Fuss, which featured Stevie Wonder and Prince. The group also appeared in the single’s music video. After failing to agree on business terms, Robinson once again chose to defect En Vogue and Bennett remained.

I don't know what happened to Dawn but she is mentally a hot mess on a SUNDAY morning. I really wish she didn't even go on the R&B Divas reality show, goodness. Still love them, though!

I wish all of them would just go solo... I love them, didn't really get into them till they'd practically breathed their last (I think around Soul Flower), but I think they could all put strong solo work out. That includes Rhona, who was a fair replacement for Maxine. I did love Rhona's voice. Plus, Terry obviously seems to love EV, or at least music, since she's NEVER left, but she could do a solo album with guest spots from Rhona and Cindy, same for the other two (and I'd love to hear what Cindy could do as a solo artist). They may not bust charts again, but if they wanna do music, it seems like a much better option than trying to make EV happen again.

@MeuzicAddict: I doubt LeToya, LaTavia and Ferrah were "set" after being kicked to the curb. I mean, LeToya and LaTavia wanted to change management to someone not related to Beyonce because they weren't "set" while in the group. I doubt when they left, it was much better. Anyhoo, seems En Vogue is just done. Which is a shame. I think the ladies should just give it up, because it's clearly not going to work out. It's best to just move on and hope for the best of their solo careers if they wish to continue recording music.

En Vogue is definitely over. Their situation is always getting worse : Dawn didn't sign for an album, then Dawn left, then the album was cancelled, then maxine left, then Max & Dawn teamed up and formed an other EV group for a tour, then we discovered that Max was kicked off by Cindy & Terry to be replaced by Rhona, then Max announced that Cindy & Terry are suing her ! Dawn announced yesterday, via twitter, that "the truth will be told". I must say "WTF", I never thought Cindy & Terry were so shady ! But the good news is solo albums coming soon from Dawn & Max.

I can't believe there are two En Vogues now. Max should just go solo or write songs and leave Dawn alone.
