Extremely similar in construction, mood and intent to Emdot's other song, Tempera Loop, Aeolian Planes is a simple song construced of a small number of melodic and rhythmic layers performed on a software harp emulation synthesizer. The tuning scale of the instrument used is an Aeolian scale, which gives this song its haunting and vaguely foreign sound. As in Tempera Loop, the composition is centered around the pattern presented in the first sound we hear. Other layers were then added one at a time to fit the original pattern.
