Detroit, United States

Randolph Chabot Jr. (born in 1986) started to make music when he was 13 at his home in Sterling Heights, MI. He finished his first album that year despite the ecstatic, aural trauma it caused his mother. He studied youth development in college with the intent of becoming a social worker, dropping out to pursue music full time. He formed an electro band called Veleciraptor, which inspired the ideas for his current synthesized projects: Our Brother The Megazord and Deastro, which try to blur the lines between electronic and acoustic music. All the music is made in Randolph’s Detroit basement with the help of sampled children’s toys and synthesizers.

I love thinking that when you get famous, I'll be one of the first 200 people to leave you a shout.

thanks for completely bailing on the Magic Stick last night. we're standing around for three hours, listening to the crappy bar music, until we decide to ask for a refund and leave. "sorry, no refunds- the music's already started!" what? how could this be? "yeah, this is Deastro! he's a DJ." fun fact: there was no one on stage. if you were there, i applaud your ability to do absolutely nothing, not even bothering to stand around and push a button on your laptop, and still get paid. next time you have a show, can I open for you? i'm pretty good at turning on an iPod and hanging outside smoking cigarettes, honest-to-goodness.
