Biography
Daniel Patrick Lohner (born December 13, 1970 in Corpus Christi, Texas), more commonly known as Danny Lohner, is an industrial rock musician who plays bass guitar, guitar and keyboards. He has worked with Trent Reznor on numerous occasions, both with Nine Inch Nails and on the defunct Tapeworm project. He has also played for Killing Joke and Methods Of Mayhem, as well as being one of the founding members of the now-defunct industrial thrash outlet Skrew and the Texas thrash metal band Angkor Wat.
He also was featured on Marilyn Manson’s breakthrough album Antichrist Superstar, as was most of Nine Inch Nails due to Trent Reznor’s ‘musical mentor’ relationship with Manson. Lohner can be heard playing the acoustic guitar on the track “The Reflecting God”.
Additionally, he does remixes for various artists under the pseudonym Renholdër (“re:d.lohner” backwards) such as the song of the same title featured on A Perfect Circle’s debut album Mer De Noms. He is currently a studio member of A Perfect Circle, helping with engineering and filling in for instruments and vocals as necessary. He has appeared in all of their albums to date in one form or another, although in 2006 the band was on hiatus as Maynard James Keenan worked on the new Tool album and toured.
During 2003, Lohner worked with Richard Patrick of Filter, Wes Borland of Limp Bizkit, and Josh Freese of A Perfect Circle in a project called The Damning Well.
