He also worked at Real 2 Reel Studios in Stockbridge during the 1980’s and early 1990’s, which was owned by Will Turpin’s father. Roland’s main duties were producing, mixing and engineering work for local Atlanta artists. He also recorded his own demos and released his independent solo album Ed-E Roland in 1991. He had a pre-Collective Soul band in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s called Marching Two-Step which included Shane Evans, Michele Rhea Caplinger, and Matt Serletic.

"Dosage" is still by far their best work, imo and it most likely always will be... that being said I think "Blender" was undoubtedly a solid follow-up... "Youth" the first record w/Joel on guitar and "Afterwords" I'd say there's about 4-5 songs on those albums that are really good... the last record I liked "Welcome All Again"... "Staring Down"... maybe 1 other... it was probably their least spectacular album... they've taken 5 years for this next one and I think it'll be great. Def a highly anticipated release for 2015

Band info was grossly out of date! Joel Kosche and Cheney Brannon aren't with the band anymore, being replaced with Jesse Triplett and Johnny Rabb. New album is due out sometime between now and early 2015. Can't wait to hear the new tunes!

A very special band for me... Kosche is good, but Ross Childress is much better! With "Listen" the childhood returns... =S
