Biography
Chris Selman is a singer/songwriter in the classic style of the early 70’s troubadours. The single ‘In The Morning’ combines a life affirming ‘whistle while you work’ melody that draws you into the deceptively simple lyrics that are refreshingly angst free. A gentle world weariness replaces empty rebellious posturing. There is a new dawn freshness here, a song that’s easy craft flows and weaves encouraging you to sing along, staying in the subconscious like a half remembered dream.
Even at twenty-three, Chris is a veteran of Liverpool’s open mike scene where he has built a formidable reputation and a modest dedicated following. His ‘have guitar will travel’ philosophy has taken him to similar hootenannies the breadth of the UK. He is the consummate ‘sing for your supper’ and a ‘couch for the night’ bedsit dreamer.
"An Al Stewart for the 21st century" - Gavin Martin (Daily Mirror)
"A new talent that seems to encapsulate the qualities of the golden era of acoustic rock" - Liverpool Echo
"A great little song, sounds like a young Cat Stevens" - Tony Snell, BBC Radio Merseyside, on new single 'In The Morning'
