Carfax Abbey is a Philadelphia-based Gothic industrial metal band that started out in 1997. They have appeared on several Gothic Rock compilation albums such as Music from the Succubus Club, Asleep by Dawn, Dancing in the Dark: 10 Years of Dancing Ferret, and Dancing in the Dark 2006.

The name of the band derives from the Abbey in Purfleet purchased by Count Dracula in the Bram Stoker novel Dracula.

Carfax Abbey takes listeners down a road reminiscent of Bauhaus,Sisters of Mercy, KMFDM, Gary Numan and Trent Reznor with a cutting edge live performance best described as an intense audio-visual assault.

Love them unto death and I'm pretty fond of steampunk as well- but I'll never be able to figure out why another certain streaming radio place would constantly play them on my Steampunk channel. One of the reasons I defected to last.fm, that.

suddenly i love to listen to them. before months i've scrobbled them very seldom. and now i recognize some killer tracks on their ISD-Album. that are: Thirty Silver Coins, Angra Mainyu, Angels Hesitate, Purified, Evisceration and Right As Reign. they become greater with every listen.
