Lappeenranta, Finland (1999 – 2011)

Battlelore was founded in 1999 in Lappeenranta, Finland by Jyri Vahvanen and Miika Kokkola. Their first promo CD Warrior’s Tale was released the same year. Their style takes elements from many different subgenres, including , , , and . All of Battlelore’s lyrics specifically revolve around characters and events from the world of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle-Earth.

  • dragothica Battlelore's second demo, it's even better than Warrior's Tale (imo) and also contains some songs which aren't featured on future releases. Also I'm surprised how different the demo versions of released tracks are.

Out of all the bands I listen to Battlelore is the one I most want to see live again... such happy memories of the last two times I saw them! :D

I used to listen to them so much, I finally rediscovered their music when I was looking through my hard drive and the memories of my teenage years came flooding back. Reading LOTR with Battlelore playing softly in the background, those were the days! I wish they could make another album, Kaisa's voice is so angelic.

I really like Doombound. I think Enchanted is one of my favorite songs of theirs.

I don't quite catch what Battlelore sings about LOTR (without reading the lyrics) but it really sounds epic and fascinating (Third Age Of The Sun album)

Reply to Metalhead61484 -- They are havin' a long break with no end in sight atleast for now. So there will be no new album coming out anytime soon. Such a pity I would say...
