Biography
A veteran Hip Hop MC originally from Florida, BadKat is most famous for her heavy east coast machine flow. She has displayed her skill through a wide variety of musical genres since 1994, when she began performing with a crew (FunQtion) in North Carolina. She has now set up her studio in Berlin, Germany where she is currently exploring further the range of where Hip Hop and other musical genres collide and collaborate. Currently she is working on numerous projects including jazz, funk, electronica and alternative mash ups. She was heavily influenced in the late 80's and early 90's by artists such as KRS One, Guru, Rakim, MC Lyte, Salt N Peppa, Mobb Deep, The Lost Boyz, Alchemist and DJ Premier to name a few. Later in her career, artists like Missy Eliot, Lauren Hill, Nas, and Mos Def had heavy impacts on her drive to continue the journey through Hip Hop history.
