Biography

There are at least 4 bands with the name “Bad Trip”:

1) Bad Trip was an influential New York hardcore punk band in the late 80’s. The band’s main releases include the LPs “Fear and loathing” and “Buzzy” on Wreck-age records, and an EP titled “positively bad”.

2) A different band by the same name was formed in January 2006 in Istanbul, Turkey. The band has influences such as Old School Punk and 90’s Seattle stuff. In May 2006 the band released its first demo album called “Darmadagin” which was recorded live at “Kanguru Sanat Evi” Studios. After this release bad trip re-recorded some of the songs and released a shorter version of the demo in CD format. These days Bad Trip is playing at gigs in Istanbul. Bad Trip is planning to record an EP in September. Bad trip will also be participating in Complations abroad.

3) A band from Thessaloniki, Greece. They play a mix of post-rock, post-hardcore, post-metal, dark, gloomy music. They formed in 2004. The line up then was: Yorgos (guitar), Alexis (guitar), Fotis (bass), Lopez (synth, percussion, samples), Yorgos (drums). They released their first demo CD in 2006. The second demo was released in 2008. After that their drummer Yorgos left the band and was replaced by Sakis.

4) Bad Trip is also a Japanese hardcore band, who appeared on the Hakodate City hardcore compilation CD.
