In “The Boy In The Bubble”, Alec Benjamin relates his childhood experiences of being bullied and reflects on the ultimate impact on his bully. Alec flips perspectives in verse three, and we get to see what’s it like for the bully, as he walks back to a broken home and a drunk, abusive father.
In his Billboard breakdown of Narrated for You, Alec shared:
“This song is about a time when I was bullied as a child. I thought it would be interesting however, to write the last verse from the bully’s perspective. I thought seeing things from the bully’s side would be an interesting approach to the verse, because it is something that we do not talk about often enough.“
“Boy In The Bubble” was certified gold by the RIAA on July 18, 2022.
