Bradford, UK, post-punk group (Mark Tighe - guitar, Ian Tilleard - vocals, Mick Reed - Drums. Sputnik - Wasp. Other members were changing. Formed in December 1980 and set about recording heavy, melodic, intense dance music with no frills and pretentions. Recorded 4 singles. One album and performed a couple of sets for John Peel (in 83 and 84). Muic by Mick Reed/Tighe, Words Tilliard.
Originally called “Heaven 17” they changed their name due to the existence of the other poppier anti facists who were rising through the scene at the time.

Killing Joke are Number1. 1919 gave it a go, good band but no KJ. KJ still at it and sounded ace on the last tour. I have seen most KJ gigs since 1983. They have STILL got it. 1919 were a good band, nothing wrong with copying the best! KJ in 2011 as they are not going away!!!
