Description

Free. (Only local residents allowed entry.)

It was held here instead of its usual location, Marconi Meadow, since that location was badly flooded. It was free to all local workers as a "thank you" after Hurricane Katrina; all proceeds benefitted the New Orleans Restoration Fund. Attendance was estimated at anywhere from 15,000 to 25,000 people. Put on by Rehage Entertainment and partially sponsored by 106.7 KKND FM. One website says "Some of the acts originally booked to play the festival, including Foo Fighters, My Chemical Romance, and Billy Idol, dropped from the bill."

During Queens Of The Stone Age's set, Josh Homme called for two of the beach balls that were being bopped around by the crowd, held them over his head, and said, "This is what New Orleans has, man."

Saul Williams did not do a solo set; he only did guest spoken-word with Nine Inch Nails on a few songs. NIN did songs such as "Closer," "Wish," and "March Of The Pigs," and finished with "Hurt."

World Leader Pretend ended with "A Grammarian Stuck In A Medical Drama."

Note: The band Ghost was not the psychedelic one from Japan, but rather a rap-rock one from New Orleans.
