The famous Slam Dunk festival at Leeds University has been a hit for the best few years, having all genres of music play, such as You Me At Six, The Blackout, Hey Monday, Hollywood Undead, Silverstein, Anti-Flag, The Audition, Four Year Strong, Every Avenue, We The Kings, Paramore and many more bands.

After the main festival has taken place, there is usually an afterparty at the university. However this is strictly 18+ and you probably will need ID

The first announcement of bands for the 2012 festival is on the 15th February at http://www.slamdunkmusic.com/slam-dunk-festival

Best place for parking is around and about the university on-street cos it's free.

Anyone know any car parks near the venue that will be open until the gig is over?

They BARELY clash, according to the website FTFD start just before LTA finish their set. You should still be able to catch a decent amount of both sets surely. Hope that's the case anyway, cause I'm wanting to see them both as well. The Architects and TBS clash is a killer blow though.

v You're quite right. With me being the world's strongest man it shouldn't be too difficult to bulldoze through the hordes of malnourished wannabe suicide girls, douchebag neck tattooed bros and checked shirt wearing, merch obsessed 17 year olds.

V Unless you're Mark Henry, then I imagine it would be easy to push through.

The corridors do get pretty tight between bands sets. It will slow you down, but not considerably enough for you to miss an entire band's set. Of course if a band on one stage finishes at 18:00 for example and you are heading to another stage to see a band that starts at 18:00 then you will miss the very start of the second bands set. The corridors don't move THAT quickly.

I had no problem getting from room to room last year. Saw all the bands I wanted to see, I wouldn't worry about having to sacrifice bands at all. :3

Megatron-1: Never been to Hit The Deck but I have been to SD North the last two years and can safely say it was pretty easy getting from room to room and I saw a lot of half-sets last year to make sure I saw everyone I wanted to see.

There will always be clashes. Rather than complaining about the fact several bands I like are playing at the same time, I'm just happy several bands I like are playing.

don't forget that this is an indoor fest and it's going to be a nightmare getting in and out of rooms before and after bands. At least it was like that at Hit the Deck anyway. You might have to sacrifice a couple of bands on your schedule.

Clashes are horrible things. Gutted to be missing Save Your Breath and Set Yor Goals but ahh well, nae worries. My day is probably going to look something like; Our Time Down Here > Misser > Make Do and Mend > No Trigger > Random Hand > Neil Starr (never heard of him but he fits in nicely to my wee gap) > FFAF > The Story So Far > 20 mins Into It. Over It. 20 mins Capdown > TBS > last part of Hit The Lights > after party. Going to be a busy day!

So confused about Transit / The Story So Far positioning at North. Kerrang and Slamdunk both have them different, I know there supposed to be swapping times, Hope slamdunk.com is right cause need to see The Story So Far and Capdown.
