On Saturday 28 August The SummerJazzCyclingTour’s 24rd edition shows the Reitdiep valley at its best.
Cycling through this magnificent area of the province of Groningen, the Netherlands, north of the city of Groningen, you can make your pick of twenty-seven concerts in mediaeval churches and barns. The JazzBikeTour presents a varied programme featuring contemporary jazz and improvised music from the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, England, France and the United States. A special focus of this year’s edition is on brass in improvised music. The latest developments in jazz and related music may be explored on bike.
On Friday 27 August the JazzBikeTour kicks off with a Prologue evening in Groningen town, presenting Charles Gayle, Irene Schweizer’s Where’s Africa Trio and Electric Barbarian.
