SAMARA LUBELSKI (us)::
"great psych-folk oddball" (Byron Coley) qu’on ne présente plus (?) - ex-Sonora Pine, ex-Hall of Fame, The Tower Recordings, Jackie O-Motherfucker, MV & EE, duo avec Marcia Bassett…), ingénieuse de son, violoniste + multi-instrumentiste new-yorkaise, surtout vue et entendue depuis plusieurs années dans diverses formations entourant Thurston Moore - notamment dans son nouveau groupe Chelsea Light Moving.

Sur cette nouvelle tournée solo, elle jouera du violon + electronics, dans une veine proche de son LP, "In the Valley" (2005), rappelant "Catch Wave" de Takehisa Kosugi ou - inévitablement - le travail d’un Tony Conrad ou d’un John Cale de l’époque du Theatre of Eternal Music/the Dream Syndicate.

Un album est prévu sur le label anversois Ültra Eczema.

DESMADRADOS SOLDADOS DE VENTURA (uk)::
Deux basses, trois guitares, une batterie, et beaucoup de distorsion pour un mur du son stratifié, bouillonnant, extatique.
DSDV est un ogre free-rock psychédélique et exaltant, une sorte de “super-groupe” mancunien, rassemblant quelques membres ou ex-membres des Serfs, Beach Fuzz, Electrelane, Stuckometer ou Gnod…
Leurs jams sont des mille-feuilles de textures, en perpétuelle ébullition, tissées par des arabesques de guitares tantôt en collision tantôt en fusion, les unes contre/avec les autres, juchées sur une solide fondation rythmique, suscitant des comparaisons avec Skullflower, Sunburned Hand of the Man, Les Rallizes Denudes ou Vermonster.

LA LIGNE CLAIRE III (fr)::
à son origine il s’agissait d’un “groupe de 4 jeunes gens parisiens” jouant un post-punk bancal, tendu et bien frais.

Depuis le départ du guitariste, les trois autres continuent quand même et s’acoquinent régulièrement avec le très doué non-Parisien, Patrick Lombe, guitariste & song-writer hanté & déconstruit.
Avec son arrivée, leur musique semble s’être relativement apaisée mais peut encore cacher quelques récifs inattendus.

"Ils pensent qu’ils font de la musique africaine ou du reggae, ont été nourris au lucrate milk. Le résultat est proche de la no wave antilles et de « little johnny jewel » en bien plus déroutant, si. Anti funk lovers rock."

But then you don’t have to know The Shaggs lp to summon them. And to be fair, that’s only one point what glides their rickety triangle of sound (the others being Beirut Slump & 49 Americans). Does it fly? Oh my yes! But certainly under most radar. You could also make a case that this is like a modern day take on Rosa Yemen’s S/T debut from 79 & I wouldn’t argue. That might be too easy, but it isn’t a stretch.”

"Placenta Popeye, c’est 2 gars, plein de disto, des larsens, des cascades hard-rock expérimental et un point d’honneur à ne pas jouer plus d’une fois tous les 5 ans. Pour preuve, leur dernier concert c’était en novembre 2008 et depuis, plus rien. Pour leur réunification 2014, ils feront probablement le plus de bordel possible dans une potentielle bataille de virilité exacerbée. OK. En fait, ce sera des chansons d’amour camouflées dans du bruit afin d’éviter de passer pour des minettes."

Duo marseillais, moyennement actif depuis le départ d’une de ses moitiés vers la ville-lumière (d’où il continue son label Tanzprocesz & poursuit d’autres aventures musicales, solo - FUSILLER - ou en bande - Opéra Mort, Femme…).
L’autre moitié - demeurée marseillaise - oeuvre en solo ou se joint occasionnellement aux jeunes de LA LIGNE CLAIRE.
L’opportunité était trop belle pour ne pas la saisir de réunir les deux moitiés désunies pour la résurrection de ce duo de free-jam-noise-rock brut, convulsif et larsenant.
