Description
Damon Albarn has assembled a team of world class musicians to travel the UK in celebration of the London 2012 Festival this summer, and Bristol will be the final stop in their countrywide tour.
Renowned for bringing the best African and Western musicians together for a huge jam session come party, Africa Express is a place where unique collaborations and spur of the moment partnerships happen.
In past concerts, Baaba Maal has sung with Franz Ferdinand (pictured above) and Rokia Traore performed a Gorillaz hit with Damon Albarn. The Bristol lineup is still being finalised, but already confirmed are Damon Albarn and Senegalese superstar Baaba Maal. More acts will be confirmed in the coming weeks - we've seen the lineup and it's one Bristol won't forget.
As the musicians will travel round the country by train we've found a perfect venue - the Big Top @ Creative Common, just behind Temple Meads.
It's an unusual but fitting venue for such a unique tour and will be an unforgettable live music experience with fully stocked bars and refreshments available.
We expect that this concert will sell quickly due to the exceptional lineup, so get your tickets early to avoid disappointment.
Bristol Music Trust, the organisation now running Colston Hall, is proud to be presenting this event.
Although Africa Express will be at Creative Common tickets are available from the Colston Hall box office.
