Description

LOOKING GLASS
http://www.myspace.com/lookingglasshq

‘Fish / fowl / flood’ is the debut release by Looking Glass, the name used by 23 year old Jim Wallis, also of London-based indie-rockers My Sad Captains. At the heart of this 8 song set are melodic, affecting songs fusing traditional, americana-tinged instrumentation with atmospheric samples and field recordings. The collection is released on Sounds eXPerience having previously had a very limited cassette-only release on an Italian label. Recorded at home in London and Lincoln, the album has a lo-fi charm and intimacy, perfect for whiling away the evenings sheltering from the Autumnal elements.

Jim has already featured as Looking Glass in session for Marc Riley, been interviewed for Tom Robinson's BBC Introducing show on 6 music, received airplay from Steve Lamacq on Radio 2 and John Hillcock on XFM and with his MSC cohorts appeared at this year’s SXSW.

‘Fish / fowl / flood’ is released on October 19th and is available from the Sounds eXPerience website, good indie record shops and digitally. The My Sad Captains’ debut album, ‘Here and Elsewhere’, was released on Stolen Recordings in June this year. Looking Glass MySpace
