We need to talk about ziggystardusta, as he is now part of the last.fm lore, sitting alongside icons such as deepspaceone. There's probably more to this story than we know: I think this account was hacked. He has spammed the pages of every single cosmic, transcendental, and esoteric artist out there - yet he listens to nearly NONE of them. He does not seem to be into electronic music AT ALL. If you pay attention, this was a normal page of some David Bowie fan scrobbling the usual black & white artists until the first spam shouts started being seeded around. After the campaign was over, the account was left abandoned. Needless to say it was a failure - spam, if anything, detracts people from what you're advertising, and for each shout he left, "The Cult of Santa Muerte" got 0.0133 scrobbles. I, for one, have come to appreciate this spam campaign and kinda miss he's gone.

you're probably the first one to analyze this so deeply (I respect that tho, have done similar in the past) but you do have a point, this seems to really be the case. my compatibility with ziggystardusta is very low and the artists that we have in common are David Bowie, Nine Inch Nails and my bloody valentine, none (except maybe some NIN and some stuff by Bowie) are electronic and this seems to be the case for the majority of the case in this account. I wonder if this really was a hack now and why was this one account chosen if that's the case. (knowing a bit how hacking an account works: I imagine it probably had a weak password that has been leaked or something and was thus rapidly cracked)

I don't, unfortunately. At the time, my password manager notified me of the data breach and I changed the password. When news came out June this year of that huge data breach dump, I did a search against my e-mails and found my old last.fm logon credentials there.
