I ordered Mercy Falls from CD Inzane and it still hasn't gotten to my door (grrr...; it's been three weeks already). But I have a worry about it that you seem to share. since it's a concept album, it probably has a lot of short interludes and instrumental passages that do nothing really. Concept albums are a very tricky thing. The one that in my opinion (not being a huge expert) does a fantastic job of marrying songs and concept is Shadow Gallery's _Tyranny_. As much as I love WITW, Tyranny is a tiny step above it in my rankings.

Thanks 'Martin' (you really should get over your Lethal Weapon obsession). =) I really like Waiting In The Wings by Seventh Wonder. It is one of my top 5 all-time favorite albums. Good suggestion!

I see you were quick to get another H.E.A.T fix! =) I really like most of what Tommy Denander is involved in; it always sounds very classy to me. And he is such a world-class guitar player - what a pleasure. But yes, _Yeah_ and Spin Gallery are the most consistent albums (IMHO). Everything else is half-great and half-ho-hum.

Hmmm... why should music be categorized? Why should anything be categorized? For convenience I would say. I would call it anything but a 'strange assumption'. But I notice that in my previous message I made it sound as if I did not enjoy the H.E.A.T CD because I could not categorize it, so allow me to explain further. Occasionally it seems that a band is purposefully trying to break a mold. I can hear: 'they are trying to play like A, but sing like B'. Perhaps with the H.E.A.T CD that's what went through my head. Trying to force themselves away from categorization on purpose, making it sound a little forced.

Heh heh, we then must agree to disagree. Funny you should mention the H.E.A.T CD. I played it once, thought it was interesting but have not played it since. Perhaps because I could not quite figure it out. It's not AOR, it's not Hard Rock - some strange hybrid maybe. Worth another listen, clearly.

Finally got a chance to listen to the Work Of Art CD, and I have to disagree with you. Still prefer Myland's effortless Journey AOR to Work Of Art's slick Scandi AOR. Among the latter, I still prefer Radioactive's _Yeah_ or Spin Gallery's CD.

It's good, but nowhere near as good as WORK OF ART
