Yeah, I thought you might dig it. Parlamentarisk Sodomi is good, too. Creepy grindcore.

Yep, that's the one. I think it's pretty sick. Do you know Parlamentarisk Sodomi? It's the same guy.

I wasn't to big into those bands, I liked Ontogeny better. And I checked out Sleep Terror, its like instrumental techy metal, I dig.

I like stuff like Ulcerate and Lykathe Aflame, where they replace ultra amounts of guitar wank with atmosphere, and stuff like Obscura that just owns. Origin is prolly the wankiest band I like. Never heard of Sleep Terror, they any good? I like Nile, too, from what I've heard.

Oh yeah, Obscura and Origin I'm familiar with. Both of their latest albums are incredible as well.

Now that you mention it, you could be helpful, seeing as you seem to know your way around tech-death. I've been listening to Lykathea Aflame and thinking "oh my god, this album...oh my god." I'm not a big tech head, so I don't know any other that just crush the realm of music like that. I was hoping you could offer some masterpiece(s) of tech-death. Btw, are you stoked for Lykathé?

I know how that goes man, I play/have played so many styles that it's ridiculous. I was in death metal bands all through high school while having an acoustic singer/songwriter duo kinda thing on the side, went on to play in numerous indie rock/post-rock/experimental kind of bands, produced rappers for a while, I once played a 75-minute jazz improv set for some congressman's dinner party, I've done dad rock stuff, the list is staggering at this point. Having some preconceived notion of what you want to do with music is really boring to me.

Oh, and who cares about the tr00 kvlt BLACK METVL IS MY LIFE kids, fuck that. Hell, I listen to an absurd amount of Alcest/Amesoeurs, that is the furthest thing from my mind.

Well, I'm mainly a guitarist so you being a drummer wouldn't really be a problem. I only know a handful of drummers and none of them are into black metal at all really. We should jam sometime, dude. We should cover the New River Valley in permafrost.

I actually live in Bedford, but it's close enough and a Bedford last.fm group would have about six people in it haha. Ideally I'd like to start a black metal band of some sort but it's relatively impossible around here considering I know a total of about three other people that are into black metal, one of them cannot competently play it on guitar, and none of the others play bass. The area needs it badly, though.

I listen to some BM and I had a minor phase listening to BM exclusively. Currently all I have really got into is Agalloch, Burzum, Cobalt (recently), Deathspell Omega, Destroyer 666, Emperor (Only ItNE), Forgotten Tomb, Immortal, Negura Bunget, Peste noire, Satyricon and Winterfylleth. Rec me some bromo.

MASTERWORKS SET!? Holy smokes, before I bought my electric kit I spent 2 years drumming on my lap and looking at drum sets and masterworks is just the bees knees. As far as centimeters vs inches when speaking of cymbals it depends on where you are looking. If I am looking for stuff on the web or in catalogues (even danish ones) it is always in inches. But when I am face to face we usually speak in centimeters. Which brands are the cymbals ? Also which pedal(s) do you use as well as hardware. Sorry for asking so many questions :P

Yeah I had Thenolous Monk in my sig at one point :). I listen to a pretty decent amount of jazz but my as for drumming my main influences are more in the metal genre. My playing style has not been matured enough for me to take on the likes of Steve Gadd in hopes to get better. But I am getting there I think. I play on a electronic all days of the week at my home and 2/3 times a week I play on an acoustic either at drum classes or at band practice. Which do you play?

You have awesome taste, Chick Corea? Did not see that one coming. That is just plain awesome. I am a drummer as well and I am a big fan of Vinnie Coliuta and Steve Gadd. If we are speaking for jazz in general I really would reccomended "A Love Supreme" by John Coltrane and "Time Out" by Dave Brubeck Quartet. Amazing pieces, the first one is very emotional and the second one is more "fun". As for Death you really should try to listen to some of their stuff. It is my favorite death metal band and all of their releases but especially Symbolic and Human are awesome. Check out songs like "Zero Tolerance" and "Crystal Mountain" from Symbolic and "Flatenning of Emotions" and "Lack of Comprehension" from Human. "Zombie Ritual" from Scream Bloody Gore is just pure unrelenting awesome as well.

You are stepping into uncharted territory by letting me rec you stuff as I please :) Here are some albums I would want anyone slightly intrested in what has been keeping me happy the last couple of weeks to listen to: Paul Simon - Graceland (Graceland) Paul Simon - Still Crazy After All These Years (Fifty Ways to leave Your Lover) Elton John - Madman Across the Water (Madman Across the Water) Death - Human (Flattening of Emotions) Miles Davis - A Kind Of Blue (So What, Flamenco Sketches) Destroyer 666 - Pheonix Rising (I Am the Wargod (Ode to the Battle Slain)) Not a very metal couple of recs but take a listen to any of the reccomended songs if you ever feel like it :)
