A lot of people think the safest place to start with the novembers is by listening to either 'fourth wall' or 'zeitgeist'. Their older stuff isn't consistently good but it has some good songs (Misstopia, for example, and my personal favorite from the album w/ same title is Dysphoria https://vimeo.com/148386530) Out of the recent releases maybe you can try Rhapsody in Beauty. Elegance is very mood heavy so it is hard to get into it right away. But i understand if you end up not liking them

Yeah, I feel that too. :( I feel oddly attached to Brad, Ryan and Hamish - even Patrick to an extent even though I only got into The Vines when Brad took over on bass. Still, it makes me sad they apparently couldn't work things out. No, I don't think Brad, Hamish and Ryan are starting a new band with Patrick - that photo that you're probably referring to was apparently just a one-off jam session in which they played "covers" (maybe Vines covers or maybe other band's songs, who knows).
