Have you heard Vex'd? They were a pretty influential dubstep duo in the mid-naughties. He's one half of them. His recent music's more cinematic, I guess. Hard to pigeon-hole. He does some great stuff with hip-hop style beats but also does some pretty heavy electronic stuff that I guess some people might label "experimental", though I don't find it that crazy, personally. Also does ambient / sound design stuff. The other half of Vex'd, Roly Porter, also does great work on the ambient / sound design front these days
