Wow we have a lot in common in our music tastes... Just looking at your recently played tracks, William Orbit, Orbital, Amorphous Androgynous, Banco de Gaia, Juno Reactor, The Orb, Public Service Broadcasting... You'd find a lot of familiarity in my Spotify playlists haha. Kiss of the Bee is one of my favourite Orbit tracks ever, Samaurai is one of my favourite psytrance tracks ever, One Perfect Sunrise was the first Orbital track I ever scrobbled on last.fm, all in your recently played. Monumentally based library! I've got 2 random track recommendations for you, No-man - Angeldust and Pitch Black - Urbanoia. No-man (as you might already know) is Steven Wilson's leftfield pop project from a bit before Porcupine Tree, and Angeldust has some cool sounds from Robert Fripp on there. Pitch Black are a New Zealand dub duo that make very intricate, spacy sounds.

Hi, thanks for the shout and recommendations! Liking Pitch Black so far. Haven't listened to No-Man for a while so a nice reminder to do so. Loads of familiar names in your library I see, even a few Ozric Tentacles and Eat Static in there - I would recommend you listen to more of the latter - especially Dead Planet. I think you may find the Swedish electronic duo, Gidge interesting and my current obsession is Xylitol's Anemones which has old school jungle/breakbeat vibes.

Hey sorry for the late reply! I saw Ozric Tentacles live for the first time last weekend, probably one of the best live musical experiences I've ever had. Never surrendered to music like that before, I felt so unified with their sound, I really got their vision. Tripping there helped too ;). Anyways, so I've listened to bits of Eat Static over the years, I do need to give Dead Planet a go for sure as they are brilliant! Just listening through to Xylitol's Anemones atm, it's a lovely album! I actually personally produce some stuff a little like this but probably not as analogue; bouncing between ambient, idm, jungle etc. And thanks for the Gidge recommendation - I've listened to their stuff before, it was a bit hit/miss for me. I prefer Emancipator, Tor, & Bonobo for that world of stuff, but I appreciate their strong following and the fact that their fans really love what they do shows they are in a class of their own! They also remind me a little of Weval's stuff in a way

Hi, no worries, glad you enjoyed Xylitol and the Ozrics live. I saw the same tour in Leeds a few weeks ago and I have to say it was one of the best OT gigs (9th time seen). I thought they have some great additions to the live line-up. Emancipator &Tor are new to me, will give them a whirl, thanks! I hear some similarities between Weval and Gidge, and I've scrobbled more than I expected - likely Spotify algorithms at work there! Trying to offer you more recommendations is a tricky task, but for some unusual electronica try The Utopia Strong or some chilled electronica with the snappily titled Warrington-Runcorn New Town Development Plan. For something a bit different re-listen to Beak>, I see you've played a few, but I love the new album ">>>>", (Denim is a stand out to me) , and completely different again, Protomartyr.

I suspect you stole your name from a certain tentacle band, although I have never heard a single second of music by said band, does this make me a bad person, or is it all the murders?

Yeah dude, that tribute to Floyd is great... of course I lost the second disc so I've been meaning to download it for awhile...that Helios Creed cover is awesome but not at all like his normal stuff. Chrome is a good band. I thought they had some Hawkwind connect, but maybe not. Either way they were way ahead of their time. Props for the Dark Side of the Moog...I think it's a Bill Laswell production. Laswell makes some outstanding psychedelic dub and ambient shit. I'm always hoping he'll do a Floydian reconstruction like he's done with Bob Marley, Santana and Miles Davis. He did also some great shit with the mighty William S. Burroughs...Block Rockin Beats is an awesome song and just made me remember that I need to replenish my Chemical Brothers...lost that disc too,ha! l8r ; )

I really like it, she was the support when I saw the Ting Tings. Bit slower in the main than the Ting Tings, but a good bit of electronica in my book. 'My Delirium', 'Paris is Burning' , 'Dusk til Dawn' and 'Morning Dreams' are my favourite tracks from it, but it's got a high proportion of good songs.

Nope, just obviously listens to music a lot (over a thousand plays for each of his top ten artists.) I've found one that's obviously doctoring the results somehow though, close to two hundred thousand GA plays! Supposedly over a thousand plays of the Untouchable single mix, a song that isn't out until the end of April (and was only premièred on radio last weekend), in the last 7 days. Quick bit of maths says it would have to be played 10 hours a day to do it in the 7 days. I call shenanigans!
