hey, thanks for stopping by to say hi! I love that album, good reminder to revisit. and yeah live got super busy finally and I don't regularly post on the blog but I do my yearly AOTY lists and I've got a few mixtapes to put on there as well hopefully soon. I do regularly post music recs on twitter daily though :)

haha well that certainly makes me feel old! so, they used to have this last.fm scrobbler app you put on your computer and any music played on winamp or fubar2000 or whatever would be scrobbled - and there's a mobile app that does the same too, I think that's still around - it'll grab scrobbles from anything you play on yr phone. I use an alternate one now called Pano Scrobbler though. oh and they did scrobble anything you played on the site back then, but I'm not sure how that worked lol

I’ve tried with that stuff but I don’t really get it, besides the grateful dead. I’ve given Phish a try once or twice but it always just sounds like one of those “shreds” videos to me. I feel quite certain that the main reason jam bands are such a specifically American phenomenon is that the weed is so much stronger than in the U.K. lol

I think the mixcloud player lets you scrobble? at least it used to, I'll check again. but I can't do that with the downloadable files, as they're just one track. the record label bots really don't like anyone giving away the song files separately, even if they're edited & part of a mix unfortunately

Can't even imagine abandoning last.fm and scrobbling after all these years, haha. Still trying my best to stay up to date on new releases and find stuff that excites me! I don't know if you use Discord at all, but M. Sage from the Fuubutsushi group has a Discord channel (link on Cached Media website). Pretty quiet still, but bunch of cool people there.

yes! you heard that XYR album last year, right? Pilgrimage, very good. I've been revisiting Analogue Oceans by cv313 a lot lately too, super huge album to be swallowed up inside. Lunaria's album last year was exactly my kind of ambient new age.. oh and he's got a new duo with a self titled debut this week! Path of the Sun. oh also Grand River's album Blink a Few Times To Clear Your Eyes is wonderful. oh and my latest purchase is by Morimoto Naoki - Sui. from seil, same label as KMRU's Jar last year. https://seilrecords.bandcamp.com/album/sui

Oh man, are any wifi enabled? I use Simple Scrobbler on my phone for all the stuff I buy on bandcamp (and it'll scrobble from bandcamp app too) but I dunno about a standalone player. I kind of want one of those fiio players honestly, since they're built for music playing and I have to use a dongle with my phone

Yeah, I'm ok with not having *the best possible* while portable, might have to check out that Fiio. I actually just got their K5 Pro desktop amp from a friend who was upgrading to a tube amp. it's incredible, plus I can wire in my turntable and computer at the same time with the same volume knob.
