I figured the "chello" only now...or at least I think I did...it's the "hello" from that song by The Cat Empire? :) As for LL, I like chaotic, daring, eclectic pieces of about any art, as long as they make sense and blend in nicely...and it does. Everything else is bias, probably. :)

was more of a pun due to them being called prog metal/rock, but I do think that those genres tagged to anything 90s-onwards incorporate more accessibility than any other equivalent or similar metal/alt rock genre. as for Tool, they pretty much took all the good parts of early sludge metal (Neurosis, Melvins, Godflesh) and watered it down, then took the boring and mediocre bits (of especially Neurosis' early 90s stuff) & expanded them to entire album lengths. their math rock elements (odd time signatures & excessive changes) were also pastiches of Slint & especially Don Caballero, and the lyrics are nothing but wordy pseudo-philosophical masturbations. beyond their influences they add pretty much nothing distinctive or worth hearing. anyway, it's nothing against your tastes or anyone who likes Tool, but needless to say I think they're probably the most overrated band ever. ps. Purple Rain \:D/
