omg hi zeal of course! if you haven't yet, 100% check out voices by wormrot. also any cloud rat—maybe especially their newest, pollinator. (both of these are grindcore bands whose guitarists play "my own summer" during sound check, hehe.) some of my favorite releases from last year were by: devil master, takafumi mastubara, no one knows what the dead think (and if you like that, listen to discordance axis—they're the grind bands who like to reference evangelion, nier, etc), full of hell, vastum, blood incantation, cattle decapitation... lots of grind and death metal, these days...! some more, with a bit more variety: godflesh (surely you've heard some), acephalix, power trip, ash borer, couch slut, artificial brain, dystopia, spectral voice, ummm... i think i'll stop there for now so i'm not overwhelming you, but let me know if there's anything you especially like and/or wanna hear more in a specific direction...! one last specific: evolved into obliteration ep by insect warfare.

  just wanted to let you know that you're list helped to jumpstart me on my own journey with stuff and i really appreciate it. there's still more stuff i gotta check out but you really helped me find my groove friend

  i know we have twitter and the forums but i made a community on dreamwidth ( the lj clone ) to curate this kind of stuff and hold discussions. i'm not sure if you'd be open to a journaling site again but i thought i'd thought it out there and extend an invitation! white there's some overlap in our tastes i feel like we vibe to different things and i'm still trying to get a handle on what you like tbh :o
