Would pay good money to hear Pixies versions of Gyaneshwar & DMC, especially because they're two of my favourite Frank solo songs in their own right. I think you're right re: Bagboy. As much as I love Kim, the 'no Kim, not interested' mentality is really adolescent. "Kim's the cool one - the band has no street cred without her." Bagboy instantly smacked me as a Pixies song so who cares if she's singing or not. Didn't get a ticket on time unfortunately (despite being at all three shows in 2009!) Will keep an eye on Toutless for something. Roswell + All Over the World + Blown Away + new material would be more than worth the 44 quid!

Ha! Agreed. Violet is ridiculously snooty. I was just happy to get the tiniest grain of clarification - to hear that Kim actually has been holding up new recordings and that the band hasn't been beating a dead horse as shamelessly as I assumed. As for Bagboy, I really like it. Don't understand the polarised reaction. Is it Frank's (understandably) aged voice? The lack of Kim? I dunno. Neither point makes particular sense. Jeremy Dubs did a bang-up Kim impression and Frank shows glimpses of that giddy 80s-era yelp everbody loves. Hell, I even like the electronic vibe at the start. Good on em for not stagnating and trying something new! Are you heading to the Olympia in November?

Nah, definitely not. That's the one big difference between Kim & Frank. He's prolific and tends to release most, if not everything, he's written. As you said, Kim's reluctance may very well be a good thing in the long run!

(CAN) although i suppose there are alot of folks out there who would buy it huh?
